Directed by Anudeep KV, Jathi Ratnalu features Naveen Polishetty, Rahul Ramakrishna, Priyadarshi and Faria Abdullah in the lead roles. Mahanati director Nag Ashwin has bankrolled this project under the banner of Swapna Cinema. Meanwhile, Jana Balam Party makes a public announcement that all the ministerial positions will be given only to the deserving candidates, who must have some kind of experience in the field. Chanakya who has insider info about the upcoming Indo-Asian Games in the city manages to get sports ministry over his rival Ramachandra. Chanakya who also lives in the same apartment as Srikanth and his friends, hosts his birthday party. Srikanth gets a job after attending several interviews and the trio attends the party without an invitation.

Srikanth falls for his neighbour Chitti, and she too likes him. The Andhra Pradesh government on Sunday issued an order releasing financial aid to the cyclone Mandous victims. It has announced financial assistance of Rs 1000 per person and Rs 2000 to each family. It has been directed to provide financial assistance to the victims while they are leaving rehabilitation centers. The financial assistance should be disbursed to the victims in the cyclone-affected districts- Nellore, Tirupati, Chittoor, Annamayya and YSR Kadapa.

With his atrocious English and crowd pleasing slogans, he literally rocks the boat. In one of the funniest scenes in the courtroom, he calls himself the ‘Citizen Kane’ of the country and asks the country’s ‘constipation’ to decide his future! Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramkrishna ably support him in their respective roles of Shekhar and Ravi. Rahul has a lovely reoccurring gag talking to an unidentified woman over phone, in the middle of each and every incident, oblivious to the situation the group is in.

These are shoddily made movies in which anything goes because you aren’t meant to think.Jathi Ratnaluisn’t big on craft or logic either. The film shows us that laughter and brains aren’t mutually exclusive. The actors –Naveen Polishetty as Srikanth, Rahul Ramakrishna as Ravi and Priyadarshi as Shekhar – are terrific.

There’s a lovely moment in which Srikanth, sitting with Chitti, tells someone on the phone that he will call him later because he’s at the Taj Banjara. He then smiles gleefully saying, he always wanted to drop that line. Banjara Hills, the posh locality of Hyderabad, is a symbol of the good life, which Srikanth aspires to. At one point, he declares, “I will be a Banjara Hills son-in-law.” But ultimately the boys realise that Jogipet offered something that Hyderabad never will – warmth, familiarity, home.

Inspired by Shakespeare’s tragedyMacbeth , the movie presents a twisted version of a plot filled with greed, ambition, murder and mystery. The story revolves around Joji, an engineering dropout and the youngest son of the rich plantation family who lives with his aspirations of becoming a super wealthy NRI. But his father sees down on him and thinks of him as nothing more than a loser.

It’s not because the joke’s not funny, rather it’s because whatever the joke wanted to convey, it had hit the bull’s eye, confirmed by the number of people baying for the comedian’s blood. So when writing or for that matter creating comedy, one has to be really sharp about his eventual consumers. Fortunately, the writer-director Anudeep KV’s ‘Jathi Ratnalu’ turns out to be superb comedy that keeps its satire well disguised.

The plot follows three happy-go-lucky men who arrive in the city for a better life but land up in jail for a crime they didn’t commit. The film released theatrically on 11 March 2021 and went on to become a blockbuster at the box office. Jathi Ratnalu generally received positive reviews from critics for the performances, direction and its good humour. Coming April 11 is the blockbuster comedy filmJathi Ratnalu featuring Naveen Polishetty, Priyadarshi, Rahul Ramakrishna in pivotal roles. The film which released theatrically last month went on to become a massive hit.Jathi Ratnalu also stars Faria Abdullah, Murali Sharma, Brahmanandam and Naresh in supporting roles.
