There is so much to do in Bora Bora for all types of travelers. For adventurers, scuba diving and snorkeling are fantastic options. Both Bora Bora and the Maldives involve further travel from the international airport. In the Maldives, you will need to take a seaplane or a speedboat to whichever resort you have chosen.
If you want beaches comparable to those in Maldives and Seychelles but also want some sightseeing opportunities then Seychelles is a better option. If you want both beaches and culture, Fiji is a better alternative than the Maldives, Bali, or Bora Bora, as it boasts some of the most gorgeous beaches and intriguing culture. Bali is crammed with pubs, clubs, live DJs, and beach bars where you may drink and dance till dawn.
Surfing, snorkeling, and deep-sea diving are also available on Bingin, Amed, and Dreamland beaches. If you love to snorkel or scuba dive, either of these destinations are going to be HEAVEN for you. Bora Bora has somegreat luxury resorts, but the options are far fewer than in the Maldives. You will find many overwater villas, and as the location is smaller, expect to come across people in the water doing water sports and other activities.
We also stayed at the Premium over water bungalow in Mooerea Pearl Beach & Tikehau Pearl Beach. Of the 15 days in overwater bungalow, only 5 in Bora Bora was impressive. All overwater bungalows looks the same in French Polynesia. But when we stayed in Delux Aqua Villa in Zitahli resort in Maldives with private plunge pool, it just took our breath away!!! It took us 3 weeks to decide if we want the Japanese style overwater bungalow or the Hop European style or rustic style before we decided on the modern design of Zitahli.
