We’ll dress in the wetsuits, lifejacket, helmet, and security personal equipment . After you get all suited up and the preliminary safety procedures you’ll spend 5 hours practicing this fun sport in groups of a maximum of 8 people. At the end of the adventure, the team will provide downloadable photos included of the day out. I want to give a special thank you to Hector and his crew for guiding us thru El Yunque National Forest.
The trail is relatively accessible, but you will find fallen trees along the way as a result of Hurricane Maria. Easily one of the most famous and breathtaking maldives vs fiji waterfalls in Puerto Rico, Doña Juana Waterfall is located along road 149 in Orocovis. You don’t need to hike to get there, which makes it accessible too.
When it was time to head back to the bus, was when I realized that I was starting to get hungry. The Luquillo Kiosks are a long row of buildings along the beach in Luquillo. You can find over 60 different kiosks among these buildings. Some of them sell souvenirs, others serve food and drinks. I ended up having lunch with some girls I met on the bus. We ate at a restaurant called Erruno, I ordered arroz con coco y pescado .
We highly recommend relaxing on the Five Star Boat Trip or a day tour of the island on semi-private minivans. We recommend this tour to those that know how to swim well and that you don’t suffer from any altitude sickness or fear. Kids over the age of 12 can participate in this watersport under the supervision of their parents. This tour is not available for pregnant women or people with impaired abilities. It is very important to take closed shoes like runners that can be used for this sport (no sandals or flip-flops allowed).
While we were there our tour guides bought a variety of fruits for us to eat along the hike. After using the bathroom I strolled through the famers market and noticed that they sold hammocks. I’ve been wanting to get a hammock for my back patio for some time now. Hiking through muddy sections and up and down wet rocks, river trekking.
This amazing adventure will take you deep inside of Puerto Rico’s thick forest mountains. Hike on a man-made trail to ultimately stand under one of the tallest waterfalls in Puerto Rico. Please note, This tour does not take you to el Yunque Rainforest.
Among the plants that Hector showed us, the two most memorable ones were the touch me not plant and the blue fern. The touch me not plant folds its leaves inward when touched, I’ve never seen anything like it. The blue fern is exactly just that a fern that is bright blue. The pool at the Las Tinajas waterfall is perfect for people to enjoy rope swings and cliff jumps and also is a good picnic spot in Puerto Rico. If the weather is not between safe margins, we will either offer a second alternative, re-schedule, or a full refund. Please keep in mind that this is ideal for the adventurous ones and is an off-the-beaten-path tour.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone trying to do some hiking and swimming under the waterfall in El Yunque. Las Tinajas waterfall is one of the best adventurous waterfalls in Puerto Rico for its risky hike and swift currents. The trail from the river base to reach the falls is a bit dangerous because of its slippery rocks.
It is not the easiest place to reach, so it is wise to research before embarking and, even for safety precautions, get a guide. You can find La Canoa Falls in the subtropical forest on Naguabo. This waterfall derives from El Hippie River on one of the sides of El Yunque, but you cannot get to it from Rio Grande. If you have more time in your visit, consider checking out some of the things to do in Bayamon nearby. Located in El Yunque National Forest, La Mina Falls is the most popular one of El Yunque. The hike to the fall takes around 45 minutes through a descending trail, also known as La Mina Trail, that has steps and bridges in some parts.
